The book I chose is the 7Habits of Highly Effective Teens. This book is a unique way of someone telling you what and why teens do certain things. It almost links with psychology. My freshmen and I also read this book. I read it on my own already, however, I think it is a great way to help people get out of "ugly habits they may catch themselves to be in. It's basically a guide in life to subtract what happened in the past to be added into the future.

Blog Visits..

When I visited other people's blogs, I noticed how deep they tend to get. These blogs are really a great way for people to pour their hearts out, or just tell everyone how things are. I also noticed how different we are from eachother. Most of us grew up together since elementary school, we hang around the same crowd, like the same music, etc. but we are unique in many ways. Turquoise's "GO GREEN" idea really put the lightbulb above my head. It made me see how creatvie people are. Not everyone has the mind she has, or the talent she has. We have known eachother since elementary and if you look at the both of us, you would see we are DEFINATELY two different people, but both of us possess very valuable qualities within.

Weekend Grab Bag

This weekend, I hung out with Charleston, Pooh Pooh, and their family. They had a birthday party for their cousin Mu-Mu. He just turned 16. They live out Camden. We were all telling stories, joking with eachother, eating, playing cards, and running in and out of the house. I felt very warm around the family. I blended in very well. They are the type of family people would consider to be "ghetto", but I feel as though they are a normal family to me! We were all being loud, they argued, they peaced everything back up again. We left their house about 1 a.m. Went home, gathered up in the living room and laughed some more. It was so much fun and I wouldn't mind doing it again!

Letter in the future..

I am 28 years old. I live in Blackwood, NJ. I received my associated degree in Sign Language Interpretation at Camden County College. Right from there, I had a connect to an old friend that works at a prosecutors office in Camden, NJ. Going into college he let me know, " Once you graduate college, I'll hook you up, we NEED people that can sign! " Opportunity came knocking, and I opened the door. I make $75 an hour, and live very comfortably. To be a proficient ASL interpreter, I had to gain 75 credits minimum. I'll never forget that crazy course I had to take ASL Syntax and Grammar!! In the end, it all became worth it. I love my career, the money I make, and the people I work with. I'm glad I followed my dream from high school and stuck with it!

Grading

Grading our blogs, I think, is going to be stressful in a way. There are so many entries, different lengths in writing, and much more. Not everyone may really get "into" it right away. Does that reflect off our grade? We may not like a certain topic that we may have to write about so the blog may not be as good as other entries.

What excites you ...

For the senior project, I chose to do American Sign Language. What excites me about the senior project is who else will I be able to teach rather than being taught. I am very eager to see how others sign day by day withought having to speak to anyone. I wonder, is learing American Sign Language considered as knowing a second language? Will I be able to learn to sign fluently in time to pursue as a career? Is it easier than I think?

What do you feel about journal writing?

What I feel about having and writing in a journal is to be very interesting. I feel that having a journal can help you in many ways. It is a way to relieve my stress that I may build during the actual senior project, it can help me let others see the experience that I am going through and maybe get them to take after my idea. I can take pictures, quotes, and much more and put them into my blog. Because the majority of people have computers at home, instead of bringing the negatives out on why a person can be on the computer 24/7, this certain situation can be a great positive reason to be on the computer 24/7. I really do like the idea of having a journal I have 100% access to, and control over.
